The Role:
Embrace the role of a brand ambassador for ideas that inspire, challenge, and transform. As a Business Development Manager, you'll spearhead our presence in your city, recruiting exceptional orators and facilitating studio expansions. This role is designed for the energetic, the passionate, and those eager to make a significant impact.
Key Responsibilities:
- Brand Representation and Community Engagement: Act as the primary representative of Oxford Talks within your city, embodying the company’s mission and values. Engage with local communities, universities, businesses, and professional networks to raise awareness and build a supportive ecosystem for Oxford Talks.
- Orator Recruitment: Proactively identify, reach out to, and engage potential speakers with compelling stories, expertise, or ideas worth sharing. Utilise various channels such as social media, networking events, and referrals to build a diverse roster of orators for Oxford Talks, Oxford Class, and Oxford Talks Youth programs.
- Partnership Development: Forge strategic partnerships with local organisations, educational institutions, and businesses to support event hosting, secure iconic venues, and enhance the visibility of Oxford Talks. Negotiate collaborations that benefit both parties and contribute to the growth of Oxford Talks in your city.
- Studio Expansion: Drive the expansion of our production and design studio operations by identifying potential clients and presenting the value and impact of working with Oxford Talks. Achieve sales targets through effective strategies and maintain strong client relationships to encourage repeat business and referrals.
- Performance Reporting: Monitor and report on your activities, including recruitment success, partnership development, and sales achievements. Use data and feedback to inform future strategies and continuously improve performance.
Job Progression Tiers:
Tier 1: Partners
Compensation: Commission Only
Role: Assist in filling speaking slots for Oxford Talks.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategies to secure speaking engagements.
- Network and build relationships with potential speakers and
- organisations.
- Achieve sales targets and contribute to overall business growth.
Tier 2: Senior Partners
Role: Market products and services of existing Oxford Talks Clients and Orators.
Compensation: Commission Only
Responsibilities:
- Promote the offerings of our clients and orators to a wider audience.
- Develop marketing strategies to enhance client visibility and engagement.
- Work closely with clients to understand their needs and tailor marketing
- efforts accordingly.
Tier 3: Senior Executive Partners
Role: Senior leadership role with additional commission benefits.
Compensation: Salary + Commission
Responsibilities:
- Lead by example and drive the strategic vision of Oxford Talks.
- Oversee the performance of Partners and Senior Partners.
- Retain commission from Tier 1 and Tier 2 activities, in addition to core
- responsibilities.
- Mentor and develop junior team members, fostering a culture of
- excellence and growth.

To apply to be a BDM in one of the following cities, you need to be based in that city. We are hiring 500 BDMs across 35 countries and 50 cities, with each city capped at a maximum of 10 BDMs.
